Yesterday evening I was dancing before Jesus, and I went on my knees, praying to Him, listening to Him, worshipping Him, asking Him to touch me.
I was feeling His Presence. And in the middle of my soul swimming in His Presence, I heard His Spirit saying “For the past weeks you have been taking your showers with a soap bar”
You are probably saying: “What?!”
Well, last week, I was in the subway, on my way home to NYSUM in Queens New York, where I will be living until end of May.
On March 9th, I came back to New York for a mission trip of 3 months, to share the love of Jesus through art, outreaches in the subway, on the streets to random people and homeless people, in soup kitchens, in shelters… however He would lead.
Last week I was in the subway, coming back home from Manhattan, where I had gone to buy frames for the opening celebration of our new show Every Tribe, Every Nation at Luz Art Gallery. I was seated, not thinking about anything in particular, when a vision came to me. I saw a soap, blue and purple, with glitter on it and around it. I was surprised: “What?! Why am I seeing this? Does this come from God?!”
I did not give it much attention for a few days. But then, I had to share a message to a group that we were bringing on the streets of NYC to show love to homeless kings and queens. I asked God to speak to me what He wanted to speak to the group. And the soap came back to my mind. As I was thinking about it, a question came: “If I could close my 2 hands together like a shell and wish for one thing that would fit inside, what would it be?”
God’s answer was that soap.
But I still did not understand what it really meant. And why out of everything He chose to show me a soap.
Yesterday, I shared that vision with Stephanie, one of my colleagues here at NYSUM. She asked me what Bible verse I had read the day I received that vision. I didn’t remember.
And then, in the evening, as I was spending time with Jesus, He said to me: “For the past weeks you have been taking your showers with a soap bar”
This is very interesting, because before I came back to the US a month ago, I can’t remember the last time I had used a soap bar. I have been using shower gel since I don’t know when.
Practically speaking though, I started using a bar, because I didn’t have anymore gel, and my friends who welcomed me had prepared a basket with a soap bar and other things. But that was a month ago and I am still using a soap bar.
I believe there is something God wants to tell me, and to tell us, through that blue and purple glittery soap bar.
Stephanie told me that the glitter made her think of His Glory. It’s like He does not just want to cleanse us, but also to clothe us with glory, and make us shine.
The Bible verse that comes to my mind is Isaiah 1:18 “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”
And in verse 16, God says “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes.”
Almost all soap bars contain oil. As we clean ourselves with the soap of the Blood of Jesus, the precious and glorious blood of Jesus, it removes all wickedness from within us, and its oil covers us with the glitter of His glory.
I pray that one day He paints this vision through me, and allows it to be shared with you.
